The emergence of OH&S Issues:
As Occupational Health and Safety has become of greater concern over the past few years, we have been asked to do an increasing number of campaigns aimed at lifting awareness and compliance among employees of these issues.
To gain a better understanding of the issues from both the employer’s and employee’s sides, Kerri Branighan completed various OH&S modules at TAFE which has obviously helped us in understanding better the Act, Regulations, Codes and Practices involved.
The problem appeared then - and still does - that although lots of information and regulations were being developed, not very much was being done to effectively communicate the real issues to employees - a lot of whom had English as a second language and therefore were ill-equipped and reluctant to wade through copy-intensive leaflets, etc.
Although a lot of support material (such as posters on how to lift weights correctly) is available, none of it is either impactful enough to get noticed, nor effective enough in communicating the real results of non-compliance (not just hurting your back and being off work but, for instance, a bad back meaning loss of sex-drive!)
The result is our range of effective and cost-effective OH&S staff communication kits… more info >>
